24 FEB

The weather forecast had predicted that Sydney would be approximately 22-29 Degrees Celsius, with high chances of rain. And in my opinion, raining was reason enough to wear a long sleeve shirt- oh how I regretted it.

The first thing that I noticed was the humidity and terrible feeling of developing an oil-slick on my face. It was like...

I was extremely glad that I'd be meeting with Whitney and the rest of the gang indoors.
In the doors of Pancakes on the Rocks, in fact.

... and no, I didn't take a photo of the place, so this print-screen of the website says it all.
Luckily, I was motivated enough by Instagram to take one shot of the food.

And I  must tell the truth... it tasted somewhat disgusting.
The apple pancake thing had both the taste and smell of artificial apple perfume, and the Monte Cristo crepe, had no chicken and tasted of only smoked ham and cheese. The latter that which I don't enjoy. You heard right. There are such people in this world that don't enjoy cheese as much as the next.

We were running about Darling Harbour and took a few group shots when we came upon the rebuilt playground. As childish as it may seem, our group climbed up the spiderwebs, and fought to gain control of the swings that were previously occupied by 6 year olds. Truly shameless.

We decided to leave the group for a while in search for something that we've both found an interest in recently (and that we'll go into further detail about in another post), and decided to visit Paddy's Market. For those who don't live in Sydney, it's a large underground marketplace selling bits and bobs and anything you could think of!

At Paddy's we searched for...

WIGS.

And before you ask, it's not because we're going bald, but because we've developed a sudden interest in having long ponytails.

We're sure it's understandable that having medium length hair for long period of time, is, for lack of better words, b-o-r-i-n-g.
And so we went into the little store and bothered the poor salesgirls to no end.
"Could we try the wavy, the straight, the curly wigs?"
Somehow we spent an hour trying on a few ponytails and thoroughly discussing every aspect of the wig, from hair colour to heat-styling. We were specifically looking for ponytail wigs, as they look more natural and are easier to maintain.

In the end Whitney ended up purchasing hers, but I found a wavy one that suited my hair colour much better. We'll talk about these wigs in details later, because who isn't curious about it? ;)

We were both so excited about finally purchasing our long-talked about wigs and asked the shop assistant to remove the tags and help us put it on straight away, before we went back to our group. They hadn't even realised until we mentioned it, which was such a relief!

We're not sure if anyone else feels this way, but whenever we accomplish something that really excites us, it makes us feel as if the whole day, regardless of the good or bad, was enjoyable. We ended the day by singing a few classic songs by Maroon5 and were exhausted while we dragged ourselves home. And now it's time to say goodnight.
